The King of Pantoland is down on his luck and needs to raise some money. When he hears that there's a young lady called Hermione who can spin straw into gold, he knows his troubles are over and promises to make the girl his wife. But can Hermione really spin gold? Will she be thwarted by a wicked witch? Can she guess the name of the ugly little man who offers to help her? Will someone SING? Come and support Hermione on her fun, slapstick journey.

On a suburban Canadian street, the Grady household is about to experience the frenzy of Phil Grady's mid-life crisis. Against his family’s wishes, Phil is determined to change his life and move everyone to the desert. That’s when the rebellion starts.

Audition date: Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm
Location: Imperial Pub (back room)
54 Dundas Street East
Closest subway: Dundas
Format: This is an open call audition which consists of readings from the script. Headshots and resumes are not required, nor do you have to make an appointment. However, you must email Nags Auditions with your contact information to let us know you’ll be attending. Please be prepared to be at the audition for the full three hours.
Characters required: Phil Grady (male, 40+) – A family man
Anna Grady (female, 40+) – Phil Grady's wife
Randy Grady (male, must appear to be a teenager) – Son of Phil & Anna Grady
Pam Grady (female, must appear to be a teenager) – Daughter of Phil & Anna Grady
Billy Boyce (male, 30+) - unshaven, unkempt, mutters to himself
Lois Pettapiece (female, 50+) – Neighbour to the Gradys
Neil (female or male, any age) – garage sale shopper
Rehearsals: Rehearsals take place Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6:30 pm; Sundays at 1:30 pm, at a downtown location (TBD). Cast members must be available for rehearsals and show dates, and in particular for the Technical Rehearsal (Sunday, April 30, 2017) and the Dress Rehearsal (Tuesday, May 2, 2017).
NOTE: The NAGs Players is a community theatre group. If you are cast in the show, you will be required to become a member. The annual membership fee is $15.00 and is payable at the first rehearsal (read through).
Performance dates: May 4, 5, 6 and 11, 12, 13, 2017 at 7:30 pm.
